Included in the article is this :-

"Iceland's Prime Minister Geir Haarde said he was angry at how the UK government had handled the situation."

    Good !
No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

On that BBC link it says
Icesave customers' money is safe, but more details are expected on Friday about how they will be able to claim their savings back.
The first 20,000 euros of their savings should come from the Icelandic compensation scheme with the rest covered by the UK authorities.
Does that mean that we have to wait until they get the 20k back from Iceland? I thought we were to be paid but they would try to claim the amount they were liable for afterwards.

  • The Icelandic PM has a nerve complaining, he is a disgrace who tried to nationalise and take British savers assets to prop up his economy and currency! Gordon Brown has said Iceland's behaviour regarding it's banks is "totally unacceptable". I agree with him!
