advice on term time only work and tax credits

  • I work in a school at lunch times and do 6.25 hours a week. I phoned tax credits and told them all the details and when I received my award notice they had averaged my hours out over the year. I did query this but was told it is what we do because I get paid all year round, but it did not really matter anyway as I did not receive any benefits as I did not work enough hours anyway. I am not sure but if you do not get paid when you are off in the holidays you can only claim wtc for the term time only. Like I say I am not sure but I think I read it on another post on here. It would be better to double check.
