There is a good thread on the main comps page that gives tips on comping, you will win something it can just take a while for it to happen, once it does it spurs you on and then you enter more and of course because of that you win more.

Dont be disheartened, it will happen.

it can take a while to build up a few weeks worth of entered competitions id say. alot of them can take a while once finished, to inform winners. some even dont do anything but post prizes out weeks after it finished without a word.

just keep entering a few every day and eventually something will crop up.

i only started 2-3 months ago, and won 2 cameras, a glass, a highway emergency kit thing, and few other bits and bobs.
  • Here's the link to VelvetGlove's fantastic comping guide mrsh1968 mentioned - it's full of good tips:

I think it helps to enter competitions with small prizes as well as the biggies - it's a great feeling to win anything, regardless how small! I was genuinely delighted to win a pack of chewing gum the other week! :o

I find participating in the community here is also rewarding in itself - I'm a relative newbie myself so just starting out, but it's fun to find out about other people's wins and congratulate them...and to try to find a competition that hasn't already been posted (which is a BIG challenge) to share with those who take the time to post hundreds and thousands of comps!

And while you're having fun doing that and not dwelling too much on the wins...you never know...the comping fairy might pay you a visit! :D
:DThanks to all the competition posters! :D

we all have dry spells - I didnt really win much during september, it is the luck of the draw, keep going the more you enter the more chance you have in winning.

    Thanks guys.

Was just wondering entering my personal details ie: e mail addy, address is it okay? I dont want no credit fraud or anything do to me.
  • Just watch out for the crafty tick boxes...I always opt out of mailing lists etc. BTW, it took me 3 months of constant comping to win anything. Just keep going :)
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

TM7, I don't win much but I won a few things in August, won something on the first day of September then nothing at all until I got an email on the evening of the 30th to say I'd won a book then another one the very next morning to say I'd won some Legoland tickets.

It really does come and go and it's not personal, it's just the luck of the draw. tbh, it should be a bit of fun so if it's making you sad, perhaps it's not the hobby for you?
