Stick like soup on a blanket - help

I've just had a new bathroom suite fitted by a lovely plumber but unfortunately in one place he managed to smear the sealant round the bath up the tiles for a length of about 8 inches, so the sealant hasn't got a nice sharp edge there and the smear is stuck on the tiles like soup on a blanket. Would be very, very grateful for any tips on how to remove it without damaging the sealant that needs to stay there.

If it's the "rubbery" silicon type you can use a sharp blade to cut along it where you want it to end and then peel back the excess using a plastic spatula or similar.
  • Thanks for the tip, it's the rubbery type so will now attack it with the carving knife!
