Hi , MSE's
I am very interested in building my own websites and putting affiliates on it to earn money and selling a few bits and bobs now and again.
So , i started looking around and i found http://www.daily.co.uk.
It gives me really cheap hosting and domain for £5 a month and i was wondering what other people think of this. It comes with an instant website builder included so it is very easy to set up.
So , can you give me you view and anything i should keep an eye on in regards to using these guys services and generally as owning a website???
Thank you

Yeswow, where to start.
Owned loads of site, one that runs and sells things too. Great experience, so yea go for it.
As for the hosting your looking at, never heard of them before and I have used lots of hosting companies, (even had my own at one point). The site builder is useless, they have a limited amount of layouts, and when you find one you want you are restricted to what you can do with it, so just make it from scratch.
DON'T buy your domain from them with your hosting. They have control over you that way, and if you ever want to leave, then they will charge you to release your domain, (which you have built up a reputation for) and you then have a choice of either pay, or start again.
Get your domain from a domain provider, I recommend GoDaddy, always use them, not once had a problem. and there the biggest.
Hosting, I recommend Cirtex Hosting. Get their Standard package, and when paying use the coupon code "forum" for 50% off your first payment (whether that be monthly, quarterly or yearly) so if you buy 2 years worth, you get one year free.
my referral in case your kind enough
Any more questions then id be glad to help.

No , but I do want oneOk , thank you very much for your very informative answer.
So , if i buy one from Godaddy , how can i get that domain and get it so daily.co.uk can host it.
Am i forced to use a domain from daily?
I appreciate all your responses:dance: I am great , yes I am

YesIf you insist on going with daily then buy your domain from Godaddy, and then buy your hosting. Somewhere along the way of buying your hosting it will ask for your domain name. Type it in. that's step one.
Once you have your hosting and domain bought, you login to godaddy and put in 2 pieces of information, that will be given to you by daily. There called nameservers.
Thats it.Rules, Rules, Rules .....0 -

YesIf your going to be doing payments and things like that then ideally you need a SSL Certificate so credit card details you take are secure. Or use PayPal.
The site builder wont be able to make a shopping website.
Know that when your site gets big, you cant just buy hosting from a website such as daily. You will need your own server. Thats a long way away but just keep it at the back of your mind that you will have to cross it sometime.
Never really made a website just for affiliates so cant say if it will be successful or not, Google Ads is a good option,Rules, Rules, Rules .....0 -

Yesdeja vu
lol
Anyway, there's something you need to understand. there are two types of websites, dynamic, and static. The dynamic one is interactive, powered by a database, and written in a programming language. (Like MSE) Static is a website that dosnt really do anything. you cant post on it or interact with it in any way, its just there.
The site builder you are hoping to use is unlikely going to be able to create a dynamic website, they're designed for static websites. There fore, your looking at a product that's not really going to help you for what you want.
Cirtex hosting is designed for beginners and advanced users, that's why when your reading the features and getting confused, its just the technical terms. You will probably get 100% more features with Cirtex than you will with daily, they also have the site builder you want.Rules, Rules, Rules .....0 -
No , but I do want oneThanks ,
I've just read about the domain names and all that and they say there are charges for cancelling or transferring your domain name etc.
It all seems a bit to much?? I am great , yes I am
