Well if I'd seen it elsewhere I wouldn't have posted a new thread.
and if you're so clever why did you respond !!! if you hadn't it would have simply gone off the front page ......

Here's the original thread. I think the problem is the title wasn't very informative so people didn't see it.
EDIT: As for why people didn't respond to it to keep it on the first page - see my post 7!0 -
It is crucial information yet it has not yet been added to Martin's Icesave and Kaupthing News. Are your savings save guide.
latest update to the guide says it was posted at 10:30pm today so I guess we have to wait whilst the time zone catches up before we get a new update ..:D

Latest update just posted here
http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/press_103_08.htm
also includes further information on Heritable and Kaupthing individual accounts, and frozen assets of Landsbanki.
IceSave bit:
"All retail depositors in Icesave will receive their money in full. We are working urgently with the Icelandic Authorities to clarify the position of Icesave and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme are putting in place practical arrangements to allow depositors to receive their money as quickly as possible.
Arrangements are being put in place to ensure that all ISA customers of Icesave will continue to benefit from the tax-free status of their accounts. "0 -
hi aal,
when we can claim our cash back from 'icesave' does any one know if we get the interest that we are due ?0 -
yes you will0
-
You will get the interest that was due at the time the accounts were frozen, nothing for the period since.0

someone who talked to the fscs said they will get intrest after the bank froze at a standard fscs set rate of around 3.5 %0
