engineered wood flooring from B&Q any good?

I had my husband pull up my quite alright tough as old boots laminate last week in my hallway. I have just had all the dark woodwork painted white and the floor just looked too dark.
I finally found a Parawood one from homebase I liked the colour of, but after 2 days of it being a nightmare to lay I took it back and they refunded the lot. They said other people had problems with it to.
So now I am left with a bare hallway. I have seen a floating engineered wood one in B&Q I quite like the look of. For a DIY person is it ok to lay or am I going to have problems again.
The Parawood one was supposed to lock together and it would not. It was a real devil to cut compared to laminates my husband has fitted before.
I spoke to a Topps Tiles fitter who told me to stear clear of the sheds stuff as it was all rubbish, but I don't like anything in Topps Tiles and he won't fit stuff from the sheds, so back to my poor old husband.
Can he do it?
The Topps man quoted me £210 for floating, fit only and £250 for wood. I have to supply everything if I use him. But he wont fit B&Q stuff. The area is just under 8 square meters. Was he expensive? My hall is a straight run, he said it was easy and would take a day.

i have used hundreds of packs of BQ and wickes laminate. with hardly a problem.
i helped to lay a 5000 sq ft of laminate last month, all with BQ stuff.
if your fitter wont lay it, then find another fitter.Get some gorm.0 -
Engineered wood is easy to lay DIY! I did it with H with no problems and you end up with no wastage at all unless you make wrong cuts! We bought wood flooring glue which is essentially PVA but in a squidgy bottle with a point so the glue gets in the gaps really easily.
We bought ours from Floors2Go - it's in the shop advertised at £34.99 a metre - we made them an offer worked out at less than £19.50Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
