ING (KE) Invest more into FTD???

I have been keeping a very careful eye on all the events and did not take the Icelandic issues likey, however in the end i decided not to panic and keep my 30K in Kauphing FTD because i thought it would be unwise to lose any interest on the 30K.
Now here is the Question;
Everything I have read about ING leads me to beleive it is a very safe institution (well safer than most) I now have a further 30K to invest and I am seriously considering putting it in ING (kauphing), I don't think the interest rate has changed from 7.15%? well at least the web page is still advertising that rate, so this could be a good opportunity in light of yesterday 0.5% interest cut.
I am aware it now falls under the dutch passport protection of 100,000 euro. But I am pretty convinced in the unlikely event ING goes under and the dutch do not pay any compensation, the UK Gov will guarentee every penny deposited, it has too because it has set the president already?
Any sensible thoughts on my possible intention to invest more please.
