No that was the whole point. Here is a quick run down.
Went bc in nov an had IPA imposed for £50 a mth from jan 08.
In march i changed jobs and my IPA as dissolved:rolleyes: .
In july i was made redundent but due to ignorance(thought it was only if one was already in place) i never told the OR as it did not affect my ability to pay an IPA.Also filled in IPOQ for ED.
Had letter in aug to say that trustee had applied to the sec of state to be released as my trustee.
In sept i e-mailed the IS to ask who i should tell if i managed to get another job.At this point i thought there may have been a chance at the end of sept,as i am an agency worker for a comp that makes heating sytems and this is their busy time.
My OR contacted me and sent a new IPOQ for me to fill in. Also he speeded up my ED process.
I rang the OR to say i had got a new job and would start it on the 29th sept. He was not there but spoke to another person who said he would pass the message on.
Had another IPOQ to fill in for new job tomorow when i get my first pay packet.

Then tuesday i noticed i had been given ED on the 18th sept. So i e-mailed my OR to ask if i still neede to fill it in as no IPA was in place when i was given ED.
He then said a new legislation had been brought in recently, by where IPA's are no longer dissoloved but suspended. That i had to send the new IPOQ so he could re-open my case:eek:
With bat and fermi's pushing i questioned my OR as to when this legislation came into force.

    Today i had this e-mail

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I apologise over the confusion as to the status of your agreement.

The legislation I am referring to is not secondary, simply a correction to our letters imposed by our technical section. Whereas before, bankrupts IPA’s were dissolved, standard procedures now include “suspending” the IPA until circumstances improve.

As you were previously advised that your IPA was dissolved, we will honour that Mrs....... and your case will remain closed.

Thank you again for drawing this to my attention. Please, if you have any further queries, do not hesitate to contact me.

So that is the saga. Hope it helps some of you.Dx

    Hi

Glad it all worked out ok for you and you must be so relieved to put it all behind you.
Am I right in thinking if someone got an IPA today, lost their job in a couple of months it would be suspended- so they reset it at anytime when things improved?
    Sorry to sound thick

Yes unless they send out the wrongly worded letter;) . Thats why it would seem best not to get an IPA in the first place.Dx

Well done Dalip sorry I asked a question in the other thread you had, stupid me! nothing new there then!

One question and it is not just for me but for others.

You are given an IPA but your circumstances change 6 months down the line, and it is SUSPENDED, 4 months later you are still not discharged but you get another job, does the IPA start again at that point at 36 months or would it be for just 30 months considering you paid for 6 months in the first instance.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but it was just a thought that crossed my mind. However reading here what you have said it would seem if you have an IPA and it is now suspended and you get ED you can still have the case reopened if you end up back in work and able to pay into an IPA, god I hope this makes sense, my head is in the shed tonight I think.

If it was started up again then you are already 10 months down the line (6m+4m) so you would only have 26 payments left.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but it was just a thought that crossed my mind. If the IPA is set up before you are discharged (AD or ED) then if at any point it is suspended it can be reinstated again at any time up to the 36th payment as long as it is with in that 36 payment time scale.
