Derelict house affecting my heating bills?
I live in a 4 bedroomed end of terrace army married quarter. The house nextdoor burned down 3 yrs ago and has not even been emptied of the occupants belongings. half of the windows and doors are boarded up and the rest are open slightly. I have no idea what state the loft insulation is in but our house is just cold constantly. I am out at work all day so have the heating and hot water on twice a day (unless i am in then i have to have the heating on but that dosent happen often) and I have an electric fire and cooker. My gas bill has just gone up to £123 per month! surely that is beyond reasonable considering the usage im not too sure if its an inefficent heating system or if its in part at least caused by next door? Anyone got any ideas how to get the gas bill down?
