I have a this letter (and all other correspondence from the OA from the time of opening my account) addressed to me, but unfortunately I would be unable to assist in this as I have paid off my loan, and my account is in credit (at a miserably low interest rate!).

If my letter can be of any help to you though, please don't hesitate to ask and I will happily send you a scan of it.
That's very kind of you , but I don't think it will help.
What is very interesting is what the FO does with Karanda.!! This could open things for me, , Plse keep us informed Karanda , and hopefully my adjudicator is reading this as well as he promised he would and will know if there is another case going forward with a copy of the letter..
  • Further to my previous posting on the issue of securitisation, is there any way of finding out if RBS has securitised this product with little or no say in the setting of interest rates?

Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC - Mortgage Securitisation

Royal Bank of Scotland plc - Residential Mortgage Securitisation

THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND GROUP PLANS SECURITISATION

    23 May 2006

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group ("RBSG") is pleased to announce that The Royal
Bank of Scotland plc ("RBS") and National Westminster Home Loans Ltd plan to
securitise part of their UK residential mortgage loan portfolio under the RBSG's
Arran Residential Mortgage Funding programme. At December 2006 RBSG had an
estimated 6% share of the UK mortgage market with key brands being RBS, NatWest,
The One Account and First Active. This transaction will securitise RBS and
NatWest branded mortgages, and follows the successful securitisation of two
portfolios of RBS and NatWest branded mortgages totalling £11.25bn in 2006.

OK interesting development with the ombudsman. They have decided after all to put my case forward to the next stage. It seems that because of the number of complaints about the same issue with One Account , they are looking at the case as one . This is an important development and the more people the better as it can only strengthen the case. The only problem I can see is they will take it all on a legalistic view point rather than one of natural justice and the clear statement from Government for banks to be transparent and fair. It is clear this is a political hot potato and everyone will want to dot the eyes and cross the T's before they tell us to get lost ! I hope I am wrong, and the more people that actually do something rather than just moan the better chance we have.

Can we have a quick head count of how many here have cases with the Ombudsman. Would be interesting to see how many are ongoing.

I registered on 22nd January, got a case number and am still waiting for an adjudicator to be assigned.

And if you haven't done so get a complaint in now!

23 Jan , adjudicator contacted in last few days and today confirmed now being passed to "legal team".

OK...I've been a silent follower for a while now but I think it's time I joined in. I see that the BOE are most likely going to drop the rates by 0.5% today and I'm feeling that RBS aren't going to follow suit once again. I'm more than happy to lodge a complaint with the FO but can anyone give me a letter/template to send? I'm not really up to speed in financial banter, all I know is that I'm shelling out about £50 more a month than I should be!!

    Cheers...Buzz

I absolutely will. I personally know of one other person with the same complaint and same documentation lodged with the FO (a friend to whom I unfortunately recommended the Virgin One account back in the good old days).

This forum will be the first to hear of the response I receive from the FO, believe me. My MP will be second on the list.

    Hi Buzzcut,

It is very simple and the FOS people are very helpful. This link gives details of phone numbers and a complaint form you can download. You do have to have gone through the One Account complaints procedure before the FOS will look at your complaint though. However, OA is so good at that now (having done so many!!) that it takes days for the intial response (which you phone and say you are unhappy with and want a final letter) and about a week for the final letter. (all of which seem to be to a common format now) - don't let it put you off.

The more the merrier - surely none of us are happy at OA's behaviour - this may have an effect - give it a go.

Not read the complete thread so this may have been suggested.

Why not all do a data access request.

The letter should be in included in the returned pack.

Those with the letters will be able to show that RBS do not keep proper records if it is missing.

Another option could be to se if someone else will like FD or Barclays will do a special deal with a reduced fee for OA customers, with low LTV good incomes , good way to get the best of the OA mortgages.
