  • Signed.

There's less than a month left, so I suggest everyone gets signing it and get's their families to sign it too. It would be interesting to see how many sigs could be raised.

Also sending a letter to my MP and MSP.

At £800 for signing up, that's a hell of a lot of cash. In fact at current OA rates that's 10 months interest payments for us.

If FD dropped their signing up fee to £200-£300 it might be more competitive, but given that with the large sign up fee, you will be funding the first 3-12 months interest yourself, you won't start making a profit until 2010, and what will be the situation then?

I can understand it if you're on ££££ per month, but for some, it's not competitive.

With the difference in interest rates, and a fairly hefty mortgage, the FD sign up will pay for itself in around eight months; As for the situation in 2010, it depends if OA continue to keep their margins as they are now (which I suspect they will given the bank's situation) so the 1.1% difference in rates will mean a saving for every month from month 9 on. Also, FD is guaranteed to track, and OA have shown very clearly that they aren't...

I appreciate its not competitive for some, but the blatant profiteering from RBS has put me off their products in a big way...

Just signed it but not many signatures on it though.

Lets get as many as possible to sign it.

    Signed up too!
  • I've just signed the petition, the more sign the better however I think the only way to get through to these morons is by voting with your feet.
I've been looking at the FD tracker which would start paying for itself after 7 months and I have a Natwest Business account (very lucrative account for them) which I'm considering moving to the Co-op which has free business banking if your in the FSB, so its very tempting to set the whole lot up ready for the new tax year.

P.s After watching that muppet show the other night I can't help thinking we put to much faith in these so called experts, we need a regime change

    Signed also.

woodam1963 - this is a cut & paste from the transcript email I requested. I did remove a couple of question/answers from the beginning, otherwise everything is word for word.

I rang the number they gave me, & a 'manager' has just rung me back. What a waste of time. I ran rings round her, until she got fed up & said that she's sorry I'm not happy, but the rate will not change, so there's no point arguing. Another complaint logged. Pointless.
  • Just signed up along with my spouse.

    spary99,

I'm in a similar situation to you in that I have a Natwest Bus A/C.

Given that I am so fed up with being defrauded by OA not passing on the rate cuts, I would like to consider moving all my business.

Does it cost anything to join the FSB and if there is a charge how much does it cost?

just signed me and the wife up :)

i sent the one account asking for an explanation as to why the rate hadn't been cut, 24 hours later and i still haven't had a reply! in the good ol days it would be a matter of hours!

  • Just signed.

For what its worth, raised complaint with Natwest. (NatWest Offset in same state)

When all this is over and the market is more fluid I have vowed that I will move every thing I have away from RBS (mortgage, current account, various insurance etc.) and NEVER EVER deal with them again.

It may take a while but I am fed up of being taken for a mug!
