yep that's good news, OA's latest rate cut is potentially back to a fair level, but it seems that we need the likes of Watchdog to keep them honest.0

Hi all, just had a long chat with a lovely lady from Watchdog who called to ask my thoughts on our OA situation.
Lets hope they run it0 -

RBS offers free financial guidance

Can you believe this - I burst out laughing when I read it on www.ft.com this morning! Any hope they have of building consumer confidence with One Account customers must be long gone by now. Hope Watchdog pick up on this too.0 -
Hi folks,
We have been following this thread and have been contemplating what can be done. Can i just confirm that this is a correct summary:
A letter from 2001 said RBS would pass on all base rate cuts to its mortgage customers
In 2003, RBS bought the One Account.
Following October 2008's base rate cut of 0.5% points, it cut the rate by 0.5% points
Following November 2008's base rate cut of 1.5% points, it cut the rate by 1% points
Following December 2008's base rate cut of 1% points, it cut the rate by 1% points
Are you able to do anything?AKA: PC

Still waiting for OA to send their 'final letter' in response to my complaint, so I can progress onto the FSA.
Amazing how they were able to reply in Wednesday morning's post after my initial complaint on the Monday lunchtime (well, not really, as they sent a pre-prepared standard response that didn't actually address my complaint!), but seem to have lost momentum now the pressure is off.
Anyone else still waiting?
Would really like to get the FSA opinion on this because it seems that all the rules and regulations are up in the air at the moment. It would be nice to see some accountability.0 -

I have just received a letter from my MP (Lindsay Hoyle, Labour, Chorley)from my earlier email to him regarding the RBS behaviour with regard to OA customers. His reply reads......
Thank you for your e-mail dated 4 December regarding the latest interest rate cut.
I do believe that banks should pass on this cut to borrowers and I am aware that banks are, to date, only making a token gesture in terms of passing on the rate cut.
In light of this I have forwarded a copy of your letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer in order that he is aware of the actions of the banks. In addition I am meeting with an executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland this week and will raise this issue with him.
Lets see if this helps to get the remaining 1.0% that I calculate is still outstanding?0
