After admitting that I was in debt, I used a lot of websites like this and another massive consumer friendly site to respond to debt agencies phone calls and letter - endless - but know I've managed to get a whole load unfair charges Removed of some and managed to get an affordable payment for some still outstanding. Still have a few waiting for responses on....

Whilst the majority of phone calls and letters peaked which was a few months ago I made a lot of calls to these companies - as was frightened by messages and letters sent and phoned the ridiculous premium numbers to speak to them - yes I know better now! I looked at a few phone bills and was horrified to see I've spent over £40 in calls to these companies!!!!!

I am trying to compile a load of telephone numbers for various debt agencies with cheaper rate numbers to call back on and this is where I'm asking for help! Can anyone add to the list - see below?

Yes I know its best not to talk to them, but some people will not take that advise and will call them back so at least we can make sure these companies don't make more money out of these calls at least!

Don't have any numbers I'm afraid.

When I sent out letters with my SOA and payment offers I told all of them that I would not discuss ANY matter by telephone. I had reached a point where the mess I was in was seriously affecting my mental health and made them aware that I found telephone communication very distressing.

A few still tried to call me but most were happy to communicate by post.

Don't let them scare you into speaking on the phone. It's much better (and safer in terms of records, in my opinion) to do everything in writing.

Just my tuppence worth!
