Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
Basic would be Child Benefit and £545 child tax credit up to the child is one year.

Then it depends on income and if the female partner goes back to work.

Also don't forget that wages will be different once she goes on maternity leave.

The ctc would be paid weekly or monthly.

I thought it was double for the first year though? As in £20 a week and going down to £10 a week once he/she is a year old.

She would have to check about maternity payments but she is unlikely to remain on full pay for long, I'd have thought.

CHB is £18 something a week for the first child (just in case you wanted some idea of actually figures).

    Yep, that's the worst outcome.

ETA: just checked and they do get £20 a week ctc for the first year. Roughly that is - it's actually a tiny bit more.

looking through that entitledto website i think they may qualify for a little help with rent and council tax ?

Is that likely with a combined wage of gross £35k (until she `s on maternity leave!)?

No not on that wage-I believe the cut off is £16,000 per annum.
