Have just booked to go to Kracow next September with B.A (£52 each way.), party of 8.
We are looking for reccommendations for a hotel in or walking distance to the centre of the City max. £70 per night for double room.Clean and breakfast is a must.
I've checked out trip advisor etc but would welcome any other persons experiences.
I also do not want to pay up front so far in advance which seems to be very popular with many of the hotels and hotel booking agencies.
Many thanks

So are we, so any suggestions would be grateful but Mrs chalky_bertie is at this moment digesting the details of Poland from the excellent Lonely Planet guide.
Cant wait to go.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
We stayed at the Hotel Pollera https://www.pollera.com.pl/ very clean, warm and you get a continental breakfast thrown in....personally Im just a coffee person in a morning. It is literally a 3minute walk from the square and is ideally situated. They will book you a taxi from the airport to the hotel which in February I think was about £14. We used the hotel taxi for the day to go to Auschwitz and Birkenau which cost I think was £40 for about 6/7 hours. If you are going to Auschwitz then I wouldnt bother paying for the English speaking guide, they only take you around half of it and were only interested in talking about Polish Political prisoners. You can buy a guide book when there for about 50p which was far more informative. You really must try the Cherry Vodka, it's to die for! We didnt do the Salt mines but that is another good cheap day out and we spoke to some people who went who found it excellent. Cheap day? We found everything cheap there! And the people are lovely.0
