Just reading through my American Express Platinum statement dated 28/11/05 reading about their offers at Harvey Nichols and Hamleys in London.
Their are no less than FOUR spelling errors. On a Bank Statement!
'Edinburgh' is spelt 'Edingburgh'
'christmas' is spelt 'chstimas'
'guarantee' is spelt 'guarentee' and finally
'collectable is spelt 'collecctable'
Only wish they could make a mistake with the numbers or put the decimal point in the wrong place.
Old Saying Once bitten twice shy
Modern Saying Once Sh*t on Twice Bye!

The store names and locations on a statement are actually sent by the acquirer of the transaction. So, theoretically, anyone who went to a certain shop would get a mis-spelt statement.

I think it's up the the Merchant Acquirer (the people who put the card readers in the shop) the hold the correct name, address etc on their system.
