Sadly we probably all need our heads examined- because the safe havens are few and far between.Who would ever have predicted that NR would become one such a place? If this is correct then anyone with savings in ING needs to have their head examined.
If they won't pay their own people then what chance do we stand in the U.K.?
There seems nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
I am as unconvinced by G. Brown's assurances as much as those by any other prime minister whether Dutch, Vulcan , Klingon or otherwise.
The Dutch minister has made rather an admission for depositors in ING- if they won't secure money's of Dutch investors in Iceland- what hope for UK savers should ING fall by the wayside?
But will they? Maybe, maybe not. What we need is a magic crystal £ ball and Nostradamus.
Should we trust our own government's assurances?:
A very short time ago Mr Brown made a colossal political and economic stab at low income earners whilst monkeying with the tax brackets. Darling made that look slighly sweeter in a backtrack of monumental proportions by raising personal allowances a soupcon. But it is still not as "good" as before for low wage earners.
Only donning lycra will convince me that Brown is in any way super.0
