Empty credit cards... what to do?

I've currently got a pair of nil balance Barclaycards.
Also, got a Egg with 0% til March, and a Cahoot that I'm paying interest on.
Now I'd like to apply for a 0% card to move Cahoot balance to.
My question is, In light of a new application should I surrender the Barclaycards to free up the possible spend?
or apply anayway?

I'd say that the more dorment cards or band accounts you have, the more chance of fraud being commited using them.
If you have a card you don't use, my advice would be to close it.0 -
Why not move the Cahoot balance to Egg too to take advantage of 3 months 0% there, then move that balance on to a new card at that time?Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
Mortgage July 2007 - £0
Original Mortgage Termination Date - Nov 2018
Mortgage Interest saved - £63790.60
ISA Profit since Jan 1st 2015 - 98.2% (updated 1 Dec 2020)0 -

Not enough room on egg for that!
Moved barclaycards onto egg, as the barclaycards hurt more!0 -
OK
Go for either:-
Lloyds Advance (12m 0%)
Halifax One (9m 0%)
HSBC Gold (9m 0%) - 3rd choice as they seem to be taking extraordinarily long amounts of time to get back to people!!Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000

murphwiz, your Barclaycards can be useful now you have nil bal on them, seen threads claiming 0%6 mth if you ring & ask but i`m pretty sure they give existing customers 2.9% life of Bal if you BT back to them

that is true but only up to a max of £35 so if your banlance is high enough its not that much of a big deal.#113 12K in 2020 Challenge #113 £17,103/£12,000 £150000

cahoot is a apparently an harder one to get
Best close down your unused cards first and then maybe give it time to show up on the credit score before trying cahoot.0
