My daughter has been asking about doing this with her school in 2010. It involves a trip to Africa for a month, helping out with a local project and then a trek or something similar. The cost is £3250 but they are expected to get at least a proportion of this through sponsorship, fund raising events etc rather than just being given it ( and we couldn't afford it anyway!)
Does anyone have any ideas as to who she could write to for sponsorship, grants etc, or any ideas for fundraising events that she and her friends could hold?
Thanks in advance for your help.

She could set up a just giving site and do something like a sponsored bike ride.0

i agree with ahai, most companies get almost daily requests - try them, but don't rely on them.
instead think about teaming up with the school to do things like bag packs, collections, events, concerts, talent shows and splitting the money between the people involved... sponsored events and that kind of thing. ask the school to do a non-uniform / theme clothes day for donations to the trip etcfor more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.

yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.0 -
I used to be with a certain company. We only had a limited CSR budget but got a lot of letters. We said no a lot of times.0
