Fluorescent Light covers

Hi all,
I'm in the process of updating our kitchen, re-tiling, new cupboard handles and we are also putting in Chrome sockets and light switches to make it look a bit more modern.
Now the problem we currently have a 5ft Fluorescent Light without a cover, rather than the usual clear plastic covers does anymore know if you can get different designs, such as Brushed Steel with circluar holes cut out etc...
I would replace it but the ceiling is Artex and removing the light woud show a falt 5ft long strip!!!
Any ideas?

Personally I wouldn't bother. Just clean the fitting and put a new lamp in, you'll be surprised at the difference it makes. If you fit a cover, it will fill up with dirt from cooking, dead flies etc and look nasty fairly soon.
You only look at the ceiling when you're decorating, so save your money. To prove a point, try to describe what the light fittings look like in any of your friends/relatives kitchens from memory.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -

i wouldnt bother either. a kitchen light should be very bright.
blanking off the light with a steel cover (even with holes) seems about as sensible as masking up 50% of your car headlamps.Get some gorm.0
