Spare a thought for the workers

So after many sleepness nights it finally looks like thanks to HM Treasury, in the case of Icesave, and ING in the case of Kaupthing Edge, our deposits are save. BUT in our moment of joy maybe we should spare a thought for those everyday people who may lose their jobs in the uk branches of these companies. Lets all hope for them and their families. They will probably have many more sleepness nights icon9.gif

  • 100% agree. I've spoken to Icesave CS a couple of times this week and in spite of them knowing their jobs are probably down the pan they were courteous and helpful each time. I think speaking to them with the same attitude helps too- it's all not their fault.
I wonder who is and how they're being paid? That must also be a worry for them.

yes let us all say thank you to the ICESAVE staff up in Newcaastle they are superb in this time of gloom for them -hopefully another bank will take over this .
  • Agreed. The problems are not of their making. No point in shouting at them. It's the organ grinder's fault, not the monkey.
  • My Other Half lost his job when Northern Rock had problems last year - it has taken him until this month to find another permanent position.

What is worse is that his friend, who also worked for NR left to take up a new job...with Bradford & Bingley. Poor guy. :(
