From IceSave To The Post Office???

Once dismissed as a non entity by many, the Post Office now seems to be offering a rather attractive ISA, with an interest rate of 6.25% and it allows transfers.
I think once I get my money from my ISA at IceSave, I will be transferring it to the Post Office.
What do others think of the Post Office ISA?

I guess there will be a clamour for new ISA's for all the Icesavers - so there may be some new deals coming out, though with the rate drop today who knows...
I was just prospecting around mainly to see what info is required for a transfer. Some ISA's (Natwest) ask for ISA ac number - (no problem) and also a sort code - Does anyone know what that would be for Icesave? No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
100% guarantee from the Irish Government so not too shabby!0

As it's the UK Taxpayer that'll be bailing out your defaulted ISA, tThe Treasurys going to have to borrow an awful lot after this debacle - perhaps think of them before handing it all over to another foreign power offering guarantees.100% guarantee from the Irish Government so not too shabby!0 -

I personally don't know if it's a good idea that the post office is taking on the role of a bank, I guess we'll see in time if it can sustain itself or if its offers are only an introductory thing to gather attention.0

If I opened a cash Isa with the post office last week am I still entitled to their bonus 1.5% if the money is left in the account for 1 year? This was the deal last week.

The PO Cash ISA hasn't changed, although the variable rate is likely to drop following yesterday's BOE base rate cut.1Includes 1.5% bonus on all deposits made in the 2008/09 tax year for 12 months from the first deposit.0 -

Well this was the email I had from post office with new rates and no mention of bonus rate. Asked at PO and they said that I should get the 1.5% bonus after 1 year but can't see anything in writing with the info I received in post from them.

that link you supplied was for the ns&i isa, not the post office isa. appers u may of opened the inferior ns&i product. get it transfered to the PO asap.0

Well I always thought they were the same. Just checked and it was the post office ISA I signed up with. Thanks for making me aware of that. I had just bought some premium bonds and that is why I had the email.
Thanks
CHRIS0
