Ice save cheque?

I have only recently set up my Ice save account and had set up a transfer of my Tessa only ISA into the bank. Unfortunately/fortunately as the case may be Icesave must have thought I wanted to open an isa for this year rather than transfer exisiting tax free savings so today I received a cheque from them for the rest of my money they wouldn't accept.
If there wasn't the problems with Icesave I would have contacted them, explained the situation and hoped to get my money back in and maintain its tax free status. But what do I do now? With the freezing of the assets in the UK, can I cash this cheque? Is there anyway I could retain this money tax free? Any advice on what I should do would be welcome.

I am not an expert but in my opinion if you try to bank the cheque it will bounce, if you have already got the account number with Icesave I feel sure that the FSCS will be in contact with you (as all other savers in Icesave) you can then explain the situation to them.
If you are unsure or worried you could give them a call their details and phone number is here http://www.fscs.org.uk/consumer/ they do appear to be very helpful.
Sorry I can't advise anything better.0
