Is it worth converting some savings to investments at the moment?

I've spent the last few years building up savings. I've always intended to introduce some higher risk investments into the mix.
With the threat of inflation looming and an unused ISA allowance I'm wondering whether I should convert £3K into an investment trust of some kind. I can take a long term view on it.

  • "over the longer term", it is likely that shares will recover.

so buying now, or in the near future, is likely to see a 40%+ return...over what period, is the question mark.

It's a better time now than it would have been a year ago! Personally I'm holding off at the moment but am expecting to invest sooner rather than later - don't know what though - banks, housebuilders? pharmaceuticals, food?

I hear haddock are going to be big in Iceland. Indeed, they could soon be replacing the kroner as the major unit of currency.
