  • There is a homeopathic remedy. I think it is Thuja but I'm not absolutely positive. Maybe somebody else would know for sure what it is. My sister used it for her daughter and it was magic. Nothing else had worked.
  • when my daughter was 10 she had hers frozen off. didnt seem to hurt her very much at all. she had had this wart for ages and it would never go away. quicker process than adding gels etc

  • When I was teaching I has a young girl with the most horrible large warts on her hands that really looked most unpleasent. However one week I went to see her and her hands were absolutely perfect, not a wart on them. I couldn't believe it so asked her what had happened.

She said over the weekend her parents took her to see a Wart Charmer in Kings Lynn who looked at her hands, said a few words and told her parents to take her to Hunstanton to play in the sand and the warts will go away in three days and not return.

While I don't think it was magic I think it was a form of hypnosis that did the trick. (or just coincidence)

Edit: Certainly don't worry about having it frozen off. My GP froze a skin tag off my upper leg (in a very sensitive area) and it's a very easy process. Had a device a bit like the mini blow lamp people have in kitchens but it just puffed nitrogen out which froze it in seconds. First time it didn't work but the next visit it dropped off almost later that day. Didn't hurt at all.

  • Sap from a dandelion flower stalk - she'll have to wait for the warmer weather though!
Otherwise liquid nitrogen will freeze it off, sometimes available at primary care practices otherwise it's a trip to hospital dermatology dept. Which given the state of nhs appts at the moment might take longer to arrive than the warmer weather. I've also heard banana skin sometimes works - tape it on with derma tape to get an airtight seal and renew every 12 hours.

i remember something to do with a dead cat, or else rubbing a pea on it then putting the pea on a tree (!?) thank goodness I have never had a wart.

Rub a piece of raw potato on it three times a day and leave it to dry - it worked for me after about 10 days.
    Good luck

If you are majically inclined, you may wish to rub the wart once with a raw potato, then bury the potato in the back garden or wherever, along with a suitable incantation - I can't vouch for this one though, but suspect it will be slightly less traumatic than any dealings with a dead cat...

Might be a bit cheaper than going to the seaside. It will work.

I would just leave it alone. In hindsight I wish this is what I had done with my daughter's wart a few years ago.She started off with onewhich I tried to remove.I tried everything including thuja. All that seemed to happen by meddling with it and all the gels, was i think it caused them to spread until she had loads all over her hands...poor little thing.I took her for laser light therapy(painless-not the burny laser).£10 a shot-must have gone 12 times.Anyway in the end ,after about 2 years of meddling, they just started to disappear and after a week they were all gone.
A wart is a virus and because it is not life threatening the body's immune system is very slow to respond. However, eventually, the body will make its' own anti bodies to rid itself of the virus and then they just disappear. The good thing is,once the antibodies have kicked in your grandson will never have a wart or verucca again!!!!!

  • I had 5 warts on both thumbs and they were getting so big i found them quite painful !! The doctor burned them several times with her dry ice but they were not going anywhere !! I then tried acupuncture !! The nice chinese man in our local chinese therapy centre was happy to take my £40 and promised they would go.......5 sessions of very very painful pins (several right in to each wart) being plunged into them and they were almost laughing at me !!!
I relented and bought a can of Wartner. I cheated and repeated the treatment every 2 days instead of 2 weeks as I was so sick of them and i wanted them DEAD and guess what .........killed em !! Yipeee...

so.. in a nutshell....dont take the acupuncture route unless you really can cope with pain. Wartner = 10/10
