Can I restore manufacturer settings

Can anyone tell me if I can restore an Acer T120e pc to it's original manufacturer settings without any restore discs:D.:eek:
It is running XP Home with sp3.;)

  • you should be able to either when you power up it may say restore or something like that all it will be in the start bar. but it will give you more an like sp1 so you will have to update it again with sp3

    Thanks but there is nothing on start up--I think that's on the laptops.:D I
  • Its on both laptops and PCs. When your computer is starting up try pressing F11 repeatedly. See if it gives you a new menu.

    If not try F2, or delete.

    Sometimes it will say near the bottom, press XX to go to the boot menu. If you go there it might have an option for recovery.

    I can get the boot menu with F12 and set up with the delete key but neither seem to offer the option of resetting the pc to it's original state. Am I looking in the wrong place?
  • Perhaps try F10 or F11.

  • Did the unit originally come with recovery discs?
    If it did then there probably won't be a hard drive based recovery.

    No it came with xp pre loaded--I think that some kind of recovery disc was made from the computer at the very start but this has gone missing now:eek:
