Hi
I downloaded a programme (txpath.exe) from a site whilst checking whether I could get Freeview and now I can't get rid of it. Every time I try to delete it I get a message saying it is in use by another person or program. It's no big deal but its blooming annoying.
Anyone help me eradicate it!

No reliance should be placed on the above.

have you tried rebooting first, or looking in task manager to see if is still running?
if it is still there after a reboot, try autoruns from sysinternals, it will show you all programs loaded at startup, and allow you to disable them by removing a tick from a tick boxEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
How are you trying to delete it?
If Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs doesn't work try doing the same in Safe Mode (press F8 at system startup).0 -
Tries rebooting - no good. Even rebooted in safe mode. It doesn't feature in task manager. It isn't listed as a start up program on msconfig. don't know about the rest of the stuff. No reliance should be placed on the above.0

It isn't listed in add/remove programs either! God knows where its hiding. No reliance should be placed on the above.0

autoruns is more complete than msconfig, it lists more startup locations..
Is this file in a directory, are there any other files in the same directory, what was the website?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
It was downloaded to my desktop. The location is "C:\Documents and Settings\Doug\Desktop". How do I find autoruns. No reliance should be placed on the above.0
