Switching to Scottish Power through Quidco?

Hi everybody. I see that Quidco are offering £72 for switching to Scottish Power. However, the switch must be performed "wholly online" to qualify, and after going through the application process and choosing the tariff, I'm greeted by the following message:
So how am I expected to get the cashback from Quidco? Has anybody had any success with this? Anybody?

We are not currently able to transfer you to ScottishPower Online Fixed Price Energy December 2009 Online No Standing Charge. If you would like further information, please contact ScottishPower on 0800 840 2763.

I did this, and it let me do it online...I don't know why yours comes with message to phone. When I did it, it was £62, but it's now £72 (actually now I think about it, it's with topcashback, but they've raised it to £72 too). I seem to be getting the amount although it's taking ages to become payable (tracked, confirmed, just not ready to pay yet). Maybe you can phone on that number, but mention the cashback, and tell them you're not interested if they can't confirm the cashback will be paid by them (on hearing this, some companies will offer you the money directly, as they would have paid to that company anyhow to pay you...or at least credit your gas/elec account with it).0

Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure about asking them directly for the cashback. I'm not very good on the phone - I'd probably end up giving them £72.
I've tried it in two browsers with all the pop-up blockers, etc turned off. I can't see any technical reason why I'd be getting this message. What do you think the chances are that it's being withdrawn? Should I just apply anyway while it's still there, forsaking the £72?0 -

No!!! :eek:Maybe try on another computer? I had no trouble going for it, tbh. If you are going to sign up without the £72 cashback anyway, maybe you could see if it lets you go onto another SP tariff, then ring up when you get your paperwork through to change to the online tariff you wanted to sign up to in the first place? A definite chance you would still get your cashback this way!

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Phew! Their website appears to be experiencing some kind of internal server error. That probably explains it. I'll try again tomorrow and let you all know how I get on. And thanks for the tariff-swapping suggestion - I'll try that if I still have no luck.0

Good luck tomorrow0

Hi everybody. Thanks for the good luck, Dreamer. I figured out what the problem was - it's because I'm currently on a pre-payment meter and there's a £125 refundable deposit to convert each pre-payment meter to a plain old billing meter. So £250 then. Of course I'll get it back after a year, but still, that's a lot of money to be paying out.
However, since I've been with my current supplier (npower) for over a year, they agreed to do it for nothing. Martin would be proud.
But will I be tied to npower after the conversion? The woman on the phone didn't think so, but she didn't seem awfully confident about it. She said that different tariffs have different conditions and then just trailed off into infinity. Are there any tariffs that I should avoid? I really want to switch to Scottish Power ASAP.
How long do you think the Fixed Price December 2009 tariff will be around? And the Quidco offer, for that matter?0
