E-17/12/04 £20  Egg Annual Travel cover

http://new.egg.com/visitor/0,,3_70808--View_1486,00.html

Just had this email from egg:

Wave 'au revoir' to pricey travel policies and, for a limited time, get annual European family travel insurance for just £20 instead. That's £61 less than our already great value cover and a massive £103 cheaper than Boots.

It's a great idea, whatever your travel plans include in the next 12 months. And if you've got your sights set on the slopes, you'll be pleased to know that it automatically includes 17 days' winter sports cover.

This special deal is so unbelievably good it's worth grabbing even if you're not planning to travel for a few months yet. Take advantage of this offer now and you'll still save a load of money – whenever you get round to packing your cases in the next year.

But you'll have to get a move on; this special offer's only available until 17 December 2004.

Huge bargain if you regularly go away, or even if you just go once, its still dead cheap :)

Extra info-

**It commences from the 17th December and i think you have to be a current Egg Customer to recieve this deal as its billed to your Egg card**

Just to clarify, this is European cover only. But to upgrade to worldwide cover is £38 - STILL a damn good deal ;D

Can anybody provide T&Cs on coverage? Can't seem to find it at all!

  • that's sounds like a good deal but i would look very closely at the terms I sell travel insurance in my work and know what it is as net value.
Most Free insurance or cheap insurance that comes with a credit card isn't worth the paper its written on due to the amount of exclussions
    things to check

    Is it fully comprehensive
What's the Excess on each claim
    how many trips allowed
how much the medical cover is for
how much is personal liability for
does it cover lost and stolen goods
What are the ages of children allowed
Find out what they charge for pre-existing medical conditions.
If that all checks out you have a bargain rip their hand off ;D ;D

    Trav
    :-*

I agree that the above should be checked, but this is not free CC insurance.

Also, they want you to sign up because it will start an automatic annual renewal on your card, and as always, if you fail to cancel it next year, they will charge again, at the full price!

    For £20 it sounds like a no-brainer.

    Cheers, Des.
  • Thanks go to bargainbabe for saving me a tidy sum.
Have booked a holiday for next year, but declined on the companies own insurance, However, they insist that we have our own cover and they want proof. This'll do nicely.
  • Awwww - I was sooo close to clicking the Submit button to buy the insurance until I realised that it's with effect from 17th December 2004 and I need travel insurance for the weekend. Ho hum - Boots here I come.

  • Nice one, that's us sorted for the next year.
This year,we've been to the USA/Canada,and to Europe several times.
We insured ourselves on the Canadian trip, good job we did,as my wife fell down some steps in Niagara falls.Ambulance,Hospital, the lot!Just paid the excess.
We've never bothered with the euro jaunts, which is daft,as anything could happen, but £58 has covered us for less than the cost of that one trip's policy.
