Toshiba LCD TV question?

Hi I am a real newbie to LCD TVs and am looking for a reasonably good 19inch TV. Is the Toshiba Regza 19AV505DB any good?
It's specs can be seen here...
I am thinking of buying it from John Lewis for £250 with 5 yr warranty - is that a good price or should I really be looking at a different product?
Any advice appreciated - thanks

why 19 inch? is it a case of you having a really small room or are you limited by funds? i guess the spec for that tv is ok compared to other tvs that size. if you look at bigger tvs though you will see how better the spec they have. take into account here that most of what i know is from what people have said to me in forums. toshiba as a brand is fairly decent but i think some people might say otherwise. most people say go for sony, panasonic or maybe samsung usually. dont go for either lg or sharp because they are rubbish. ok, back to your potential reasons for wanting this size tv. well if it is a space issue i suggest writing down the height, width and depth measurements usually given in tvs specs. get a tape measure out and go to were you want to put the tv and then combined with the measurements written down you can get some idea of what size tv you can fit into the space. 18 months ago we upgraded from a 28 inch widescreen to a 32 inch widescreen. we didnt think we could fit anything bigger into the space. when we got our 32inch set up we realised we could have got a bigger tv. we are now looking at getting a 40 inch because our current tv is rubbish. as far as price goes i think the smaller tvs are over priced. they have a weaker spec and you can get a 32 inch tv for between £300 and £400. www.comet.co.uk is a good site for searching because you can select the things you want on the left and it then shows all tvs with those features. you can select brand, size, price range etc. you may not want to buy from there though, always shop around. you can also look it up at www.reevoo.com to see what people think of it. there will be other sites that have reviews as well. the things i personally look for in a tv are the dynamic contrast(most are over 10000, the higher the better), is it full 1080p hd and is it 100hz. 100hz isnt a must though.0

Thanks for the useful reply -
The reason for the size is that it needs to be portable, I would like to sometimes take it in the car and put it on a table and show 12-15 seven to ten year olds and film on it and then take it home again. But I want something with a reasonable spec because when it is at home we will use it as a spare TV.0 -
well as a spare tv for watching in bed it is probably decent enough. i think maybe a cheaper brand might do you if there is going to be kiddies running around. you dont want to risk something expensive in that situation. so i think that tv would certainly fit your needs but like i said it maybe wiser to settle for a cheaper brand. i dont know which to suggest but someone here is bound to have a good idea. dont forget try the search on comets site to see what you come up with.0
