Hi
Am more concerned reading that letter - MBNA may not pursue the debt but there is nothing to stop them selling it on, even years later.
I think that the banks sold a £12bn load of old debt last year, much of it out of time but several people on here have been chased for old secured debt as a result. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
HI ras , thank you for the help, i understood what you were saying but got a bit lost when it came to below!
You need to be clear what is being partially settled, the debt or the note on your credit record?
sorry i am being a bit dim, but just want to 100% on eveything! As mbna do seem to be very sneaky!0 -
just got off the phone to cccs and they say the above letter is ok, but might just double check with ndl too!0

CCCS say the letter is ok?
I couldn't see it at work as our system blocks some sitees and pictures from being displayed, but it is not 100% as RAS points out.
To be sure, i would write a letter to them stating you are in receipt of their letter of 9th October and hope to have the funds available by the end of the month. If this is acceptable, can they confirm that the ... (enter blurb from NDL letter regardsing F&F and that no other agency will collect or buy the debt.
They said the payment must be immediate so there's no harm in checking that end of month is ok (if you can arrange this) and you are just checking the other facts while writing. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
yes cccs sAy the letter is fine!
but i always double check on here as sometimes the advice i have had from them isn't 100%!- i think sometimes i must just get less knowledgable opertators!
will ring them today and just ask them to clarify the situation in writing (of course!) as the man from mbna did say about not being passed on etc etc when i spoke to him and ths seems to be missing here!0
