Whatever way you cut it, we'll all be in deep do-do for a long, long time. My only regret is that I didn't take my own advice and get out of this country in time. The economic fundamentals just aren't here any more - we are a nation of consumers and borrowers, not providers and producers. This pyramid scheme economy has been blown apart.

Could there be a question of suitability of the investments councils made for purpose, even had the present debacle not occurred? If the question may be valid, can one look forward to investigations by the District Auditors and possibly surcharges on councillors, who are supposed to supervise their officers' decisions, and hold ultimate responsibility.
