I have recently bought an Xbox 360 and have no idea what games to buy for it?
I have bought tiger woods and PES 2008 but i'm looking at getting non-sports games but aint got the first clue whats good and whats not? Been told Call of Duty and Ghost Recon are decent but not sure what is worth getting for a beginner?

hi -Ghost and Call among my favourites, currently playing Medal of Honour and Test Driver.
I presume you have 1 months free silver and/or gold online access. You can browse through a load of demos which you can download to see what sort of game takes your fancy. There should be a few already on your harddrive or disk depending on which 360 you have.
Also, there's loads of online sites where you can read reviews for all types of games.
By the way, I'm not a teenager hiding in his room -I'm 50!may you live in interesting times0 -
Have you considered buying an original xbox instead? They're dirt cheap, have a massive back catalogue, the games are all over the place for next-to-nothing.
I can recommend games, but it seems like I'm suggesting that you 'learn to drive in a Ferrari'.Super geek.0 -
All depends on how much you want to spend and how old you are.
If you are looking for something a bit on the spooky side and that won't break the bank I can strongly recommend Condemned which is an FPS (the original not the follow up) You should be able to find it for less than £20 and it should keep you interested.Staying on FPS titles Bioshock is another cheap yet excellent game.
Or if you are prepared to wait a month or so Fable 2 (RPG) and Fallout 3 (FPS/RPG) both look pretty amazing and are promising a lot of hours of play.If you're not sure then there are plenty of vids on youtube showing all of the games I've mentioned so you can judge for yourself if they fit what you are looking for

Whenever I buy a new console (last one being the xbox360) I also buy 4 games from the different genres;
sports (you have this covered),
driving (PGR4, Forza 2 or Burnout: Paradise are all enjoyable),
first person shooter - FPS (Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway, Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 or Halo 3), and
beat 'em up (Virtua Fighter 5 or Dead or Alive 4)
That should give you a decent range to suit your mood.

Thanks, i'm 24 and used to play the likes of Medal of Honour on PS2 and Goldeneye back in the day on N64 but since then have mainly played golf or football games.
I want to buy a game that will keep me entertained during the winter months. If i dont have a hard drive can i still play demo's if i try out xbox live? also how does Live work and what would i need?0 -
Racedriver Grid is the best driving game out there atm. GTA4 is a must have as its the best looking and playing game IMO, Call of duty 4 is the best online game play so far, Halo 3 is still good and being expanded on soon, and there are lots of sports games out soon such as Fifa 09 etc0

Bioshock
Call of Duty 4
The Orange Box
Battlefield: Bad Company
Gears of War
Oblivion + Shimmering Isle
All great games that you can find pretty cheap now, most around £15, and they'll last you for ages

My son had the same problem -you have to download the demo each time you want to play and you can't save -son winged about this so bought him a hard drive.
We get all our stuff as pre-owned from Gamestation -if we don't like the game or there's a fualt it goes back within a few days to exchange for something else. Never had any problem with this store.may you live in interesting times0 -

To be honest I'm not 100% sure as I've never taken advantage of the 360 live service but if memory serves you will need the hard drive in order to play the demos as it downloads the content from XBL onto the console. Best bet is to check the 360 website it should answer everything you need to know about the live service.
Oh and I agree with the other poster GTA4 is a must have title if you are into that type of game as there is PLENTY to do.Also if you loved Medal of Honour chances are you will love CoD 4 and Fallout 3 (when it's released).0 -
Gears of War and Bioshock.
Noticed no-one suggested Mass Effect... I recon it's the best game on the system.
