Iphone update 2.02

I got an iphone yesterday and when I got it home and connected to the laptop and itiunes it asked me if I wanted to update to this firmware. I accepted this but after 5 mins it said it was unable to complete the update and bricked the phone. I took it back to o2 and they de-bricked it. I then took it back home and tried to update the phone and the same thing happened. Bricked again! Has anyone had this problem before? If so, do we know what might be causing it?
