spreadsheet know how?

i did learn spreadsheets at college but learnt it one day sat and passed exam next day and day following that forgot it all. i want to try and set up a budget spreadsheet (copying one on here does not work so need to start from scratch) i know its something plus something minus something in brackets. as you can see need help lol?

You mean to add the numbers up so you get a total, well the way i do is type =SUM() into the total box then in between the brackets you type the cells u want to add up eg M3:M14 and press, make sure you use a colon, also if you have other months you want to do the same for you just highlight the box with the total and move the mouse over thye bottom right corner until you get the plus sign then left click and hold it and drag it to the right, or i can do an example and email it to you if u want

I suggest that you search for a spreadsheet tutorial to refresh your memory, this is a good start:

it will all soon come flooding back, if you need to know how to use a particular function or formula just google something like "how do i change a cell colour in excel" and you should find your answer.

The exact syntax may differ slightly depending on the spreadsheet software. So are you actually using Excel or something else?
