    Managed to bag a ring for a few pennies over £1.

    Even with the P&P that's a lot less than its scrap value.

    I also had a couple of bracelets for £1 and again the scrap value is higher than the £1 + P&P.
    It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    And it's bloody ugly! ;)

    Your stroller seems to be heading to around the £20 mark for close of auction. I'm watching the one I found on speedauctions ending in around 25 minutes. It's dropping (£23.65 now), but very, very slowly. So, there's a good indication of what they are willing to let the thing go for.

    To be honest, the gold jewellery drops (and maybe a dirt cheap AWT pan set - annoyed I missed out on them the other day!) are the only things I'm really interested in, as I am looking at it from the point of view that with gold, I know what the real value is! That way, I know if I'm getting a real bargain, as opposed to a bargain based on some fictitious and totally ludicrous RRP.

    It's worth it for stuff like gold and possibly the Antony Worrell Thompson pan sets when they drop to stupid prices. You know you're actually getting a bargain that can be sold on for a profit when you're able to check the real RRP, etc, elsewhere. The "exclusive to us" stuff with fantasyland RRPs to give the impression of bargain when the goods are probably not very good quality are probably best avoided. Saying that, for £1 plus postage, a lot of stuff can probably be sold on Ebay for a profit. The gold is definitely worth a punt. You are limited to buying 1 item, mind. Saying that, someone on here from Perth seems to have signed up their entire family to buy gold when it comes up at £1. ;)

    Yeah, exactly the same here.

    I was in two minds with the saucepans, could have got them for next to nothing, but decided to pass on them, I noticed they recommended not to wash them in the dishwasher on some - didn't like the sound of that. I'll just stick to the stainless steel ones I have for now, they are nice and solid and see no reason why they wouldn't last and wouldn't feel confident giving the AWT ones away as presents.

    We used to have a couple Swan brand saucepans many years ago, we then later bought a few more as we were very pleased with them, however finding that the brand name had been sold to Littlewoods and the were just cheap rubbish.

    I don't really need the AWT pan set, but they didn't look too bad for the money.

    Just for other people's reference, here's what an internet site is paying for scrap gold today:

    9ct = £5.08, 14ct = £7.86, 18ct = £10.35, 22ct = £12.86, 24ct = £14.13

    The prices are per gram.

    Yeah, per gram, the site also has a calculator if you don't want to work it out yourself.
