Home Insurance & Rendering

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if Buildings Insurance covers rendering? The rendering is falling off the front of our house and it's a danger to the public, since we live in a terrace which has no front garden (ie it's straight onto the pavement).

I opened the upstairs window a few weeks back and a piece of rendering fell onto the pavement, luckily nobody was walking by. We can't afford to have it repaired, so the only option is an insurance claim.

Anybody any experience with such a claim?

Cheers

this sounds like a maintenance issue and not usually covered under your policy. :(

Just thought i'd post an update on this, incase anybody else has the same question.

I made a claim and the insurance company agreed to pay for the repair and for the front of the house to be painted so that it all matched.

That was in November last year....it's taken me a while to update this!!
