I took some money from my icesave last Friday (working hours) - this is still not in My UK account. Anyone know if this sure to hit my a/c tomorrow?

  • miker2008 - you're new here. First lesson for all new arrivals is ....SEARCH PREVIOUS THREADS, before making a fresh post on an issue which has been hugely well-discussed on the forum over the past few days. If you look, you'll find lots of information and comment from the many others in the same position as you.

    Best of luck...

  • thankss but I have searched and cannot find this info - If anyone can give me a one-liner it would be much appreciated.
  • I rang ICESAVE this morning and they said that as I had done a chaps payment before 9am on the 7th I would get my money it was just delayed because the system was overloaded. After 9am and they say it will return to the ICESAVE account.

I'm not sure I believe them.

Don't believe them. I did chaps before 9am on the 7th and my money has reappeared in my Icesave account.
  • I was told by Icesave that anyone who made the request at the weekend would get their money. Anythin done on Mon or Tues would be recalled. I guess the truth is, nobody I can see on here has received a CHAPS or BACS payment for any transaction requested after FRIDAY.

I made a BACS request on Sunday. I range Icesave twice and on both times they categorically stated that the transfer would go through. If I get anything I'll let you know.

Miker - search on Icesave, withdrawals, BACS and CHAPS - you'll see up to 50 threads with info about others' experiences. In summary, it looks as if almost all transfers made between about last Friday and the Icelandic announcement of a "freeze" on Tuesday morning were recorded as processed on the Icesave website, but the funds didn't reach the UK accounts. Assumption is that these transfers are held (suspended?) in a clearing account, and that Icesave will either cancel/reverse the transfers and put the money back into the Icesave accounts, or (less likely) the transfers will eventually be processed through...

Not a one-liner, I'm afraid. But life's not that simple.

Maybe there's a lesson for all posters, new or old. If you can't offer constructive, helpful or informative comments, don't post.

Forums are most useful when they contain thoughtful discussion and useful facts. Condescension and insults waste forum space and readers' time, and do no-one any good.
