connecting sky box in bedroom

hi i am wondering if anyone can help. we have sky and my husband did wiring so the lads can watch it in their bedrooms now they are arguing over programmes to watch so my mum who had sky but cancelled has given my eldest her box for his bedroom so he can watch free channels. How do we go about setting it up and what do we need. any help would be great

  • You will probably need a extra dish, or at least another (or Dual LNB) as you current one will only be able to receive one channel (unless you have sky plus)
If you want to get free satellite threw sky, best to give them a call about it. If not there are plenty of ways to get free satellite now, however I am not sure weather they are compatible with the sky box

  • change the LNB on the dish to a quad, run a wire from the new LNB to each box, each box needs a blue card, available from sky for £20. we have main box with subscription downstairs, magic eye in master bedroom (so i can choose what to watch inc. subscription channels) and a box+card in the 2 kids bedrooms, leaving 1connection on the LNB free for when I find a cheap enough (£40) sky+ box
