BBC News is only showing ING as taking over Hertiable (part of Landsbanki). http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7658417.stm
I believe the BBC have got the initial facts wrong.0 -

not always the most reliable of sources but the Daily Mail also confirms the ING acquisition of KE deposits;
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/article-1069715/Brown-ready-sue-Iceland-recoup-savings-200-000-Britons-unable-withdraw-money.html
"Today savings bank ING Direct UK announced it was acquiring more than £3 billion of deposits held by British savers with two Icelandic-owned banks.
The Dutch-owned group, is to buy £2.5 billion of deposits and 160,000 customers from Kaupthing Edge, the UK retail arm of Iceland's biggest bank"0 -
I've just spoken to KE customer service and the rep told me that they had just heard the rumour that ING direct have acquired the deposits but assured me that this was untrue and just a rumour. Apparently KE are currently preparing a statement to that effect.It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0
