*mods: One Martin Thread, But Preferably None

I'm not an advocate of censorship but this valuable forum is going to be entirely devalued if it continues to be cluttered with threads / posts that are "for" Martin Lewis and "against" Martin Lewis.

What's happening in the wider world isn't about Martin.

It's about financial chaos, the collapse of national economies, and now -- it seems, though candidly I've yet to encounter a single senior Labour politician capable of getting the facts right, first time out -- the mother-and-father of all rows between two sovereign countries: Iceland, and the United Kingdom.

At this time, therefore, could the mods either DELETE every thread centering upon Martin or, if we have to have a battle between nay-sayers and gain-sayers, just ONE thread?

The world of the media is bad enough with its obsession with personalities.

The last thing I want to see on here is exactly the same thing.

PS: for those who missed Darling's revelation on Radio 4 this morning, here it is:

"The Icelandic government, believe it or not, have told me yesterday they have no intention of honouring their obligations here.

"Because this is a branch of a foreign bank the first call would be on the Icelandic compensation scheme which, as far as I can see, hasn't got any money in it.

"The British scheme would top that up to £50,000, but people over and above that would lose out.
"But I have decided in these exceptional circumstances that we will stand behind those depositors so they get their money back."

  • I absolutely agree. Please put all the aimless chatter in one thread for others to squabble about. Those who want news and advice are currently having to sift through the nonsense.
