Letter from NTL re incorrect charges

After reading these posts I checked our NTL bill. We moved here almost 3 years ago and I have just discovered we haven't been paying any line rental since we moved in! I also discovered we haven't paid for our broadband connection either!
I tried ringing them a few months ago to request a 'code' to key in before making calls (our daughter was running up a huge bill phoning mobiles and I wanted to stop her). I was told that we weren't registered with NTL so couldn't have a code. I gave them our account number and address and said we received a bill every month and paid it as soon as it arrived but they still insisted that we weren't with them. They said they'd look into it but have never got back to us. Should I ring them again and try to get it sorted out or just plead ignorance when they finally catch up with us?

Personally I'd leave it, they will only charge you the last 3 months if they do catch up so just let them sort itThanx

Dont pay your next bill, when they come chasing tell them that as far as they are concerned you dont have an account with them so you would also like to be reimbursed all the money you have already paid them while you thought you did have an account with them.
Bet they whistle a different tune then
