FAQ updated with Icesave answers

I had been holding off on updating the FAQ as there were so few answers but we have a couple now and as the same questions were asked a lot yesterday I thought there was a need.

Please check the Icesave section in the FAQ and let me know if I got anything wrong.

I was wondering what will happen to those of us, like me and several others on this board, that set up BACS and CHAPS transfers out of Icesave just before they went bust, and the money is now nowhere to be seen? Presumably Darling is going to guarantee this too?

Sorry, I don't know. My assumption is that the money will arrive at one end or the other soon, probably back with Icesave.

There is a BACS gauarantee but I think that will be the sending, not receiving, bank's responsibility. So Icesave unfortunately. Might be worth asking the bank you were sending it to if the money doesn't arrive though.

Sorry i can't be of more help. If I knew the answer I would put it in the FAQ.

hi cwcw I spoke to icesave at 8am today and he told me is all in a icesave holding account and will be repaid back into the icesave accouints later today as they had being told yesterday to hold all payments even though they were making transfers and telling savers chaps/bacs were en route -very dishonest but do not blame the staff at icesave-
we now have to wait while still keepin this post going for all of icesavers here .
