Wednesday 8/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j
Today I will:
Hope you all have a good day whatever you are doing, not much planned for me except lots of paperwork and a trip to costco to buy stuff for the oldies at work. It is definately winter now here - it is freezing today and we are permanently dull and grey at the moment - oh well soon be time to start bunging stews in the slowcooker again:D
Catch up with you all later.

Morning Sophiesmum and all who follow :hello:
I'm so envious about your remoska - I've coveted one for years, and regularly dropped hints
I got a mini processor (a la Delia) instead. Which I've never used.
So today I have/will:- be bright and sparkly:xmastree:
- brought in lunch (I baked a potato in the bottom of the oven while I batch cooked, and now I'm going to see if 2 mins in the microwave makes it as good as done in the oven- fingers crossed:p )
- Slow cooker will definitely be in use tonight to make a big batch of stew or curry with some beef. I'm also going to try adding lentils or oats to stuff, to stretch the meat, as recommended on Weezls thread. Last week I even added water to the last of a casserole and had a meaty soup for lunch one day, so rubber chicken has opposition!
- and (while I'm on a cooking theme) I'll cook more apples for the freezer.

- I WILL list something on e-bay tonight
- And I'll tidy my bedroom - not MSE but I'll feel better, you could write your name in the dust at the mo
(It's not untidy, it doesn't get untidy while OH is away! it's just dusty) - I'll chase up Tesco for some Clubcard points as my card EXPIRED  and they wouldn't add points, but I haven't received a replacement card.
- another NSD (4th this month already
and yesterday was only 20p)

• Maybe plan some christmas-present-buying through Quidco with bank balance left at the end of the month... hardly bought any pressies yet and have loads to buy for!
Think that's all for me today.
Have a great day everyone xx0 -

* Little boy broke my good digital kitchen scales  so have to buy some more. Will be plain old normal scales this time (6.99 from argos)
* Will post parcels sold on ebay.
* One load of washing to do - will do at 30 degrees and see if comes out ok (its whites so I'm dubious)
* Keep heating off
* Storecupboard dinner (gammon with pineapple - no rings so it'll have to be chunks. Am sure OH won't notice lol :rotfl: )
* Walking to post office instead of driving.

Fay- you had the opportunity to be Little Bo Peep, bet she had sparkles....
I've had my statement from the dreaded A&L and have managed to pay off £350.37 since the last one! That's all through the payment a day challenge, I think that's pretty good. Okay, so I've still got £3107.83 to go...and we won't mention the other two cards at this point
Another £10 off the saddle fund bringing it down to £201.98
Now apart from looking fabulous and sparkly I will be doing the following:
check on-line banking
fiddle with spreadsheet
post 3 ebay parcels
brought in breakfast and lunch
come to work
ride my horseTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
Total debt today: £0 - debt and mortgage free 29th November 2013 :T
