Well said LoneRanger, did you take breath!!!
Take a look on Debtman2007's thread 'first credit debt collection' and see that you are far from alone in dealing with the venom that this bunch of parasites spout. Most of it is lying, cheating hollow threats to try and scare you into doing something stupid like borrowing MORE to PAY THEM ( against OFT Guidelines 2.6b/f ) so that the commission-driven collection-monkey on the phone can make some more money out of ther misery of others.
Rant over,
E-mail them at enq@1stcredit.co.uk telling them that you will only communicate by letter and that any further telephone calls will be regarded as harrassment under Sect 2.2g and any request to contact them via ANY of their premium rate no's contravenes Sect2.2h. (For all their no's go to SayNoTo0870.co.uk ). E-mail is good as you immediately get an auto-receipt.
If they continue to phone, e-mail Audrey Shim Quee at 1st Credit and complain to her, she's their compliance ( "£** off! ) officer, lol.
Still probs, then ring OFT ( oft.gov.uk ) and complain, EVERYBODY COMPLAIN PLEASE, YOU ALL HAVE CAUSE TO AND ITS ANONYMOUS.
Dont give in, and please post as its v.therapuetic.
:D stay wonky

Hi hopeforthefuture
Please don't be put off asking for help. I could walk past every member of the forum in the street & i would not know that they were a member of this forum.
I think the first thing would be to request all correspondence in writing. I'll see if i can find the template
We want to help & we will help in any way we can.SOA = Statement of Affairs (to find a SOA Calculator, google 'make sense of cards' & click on calculators tab > Statement of Affairs)0 -
Here we go:
Quote:
Dear Sir / Madam,
Re accounts ref
I do not acknowledge any debt to your company.
I am writing to you to inform that I request all communications to me in writing. I do not want any further telephone calls made to me ( my mum).
To continue to contact me by telephone after I have requested you not to constitutes harassment. I require all future communications in writing for future Court use. Do not telephone me again – remove any telephone numbers you hold for me from your systems.
Your telephone calls are in breach of the Office of Fair Trading guidelines. If you continue with them after the receipt of this letter, an official complaint, together with a log recording the times and frequency will be passed both to that office and to Trading Standards, For your information, all telephone calls are taped.
This type of debt collection method is contrary to the ‘Administration of Justice Act 1970’. In that it is intended to cause alarm and distress to the recipient. Your methods will not be tolerated. A formal complaint to the relevant authorities will be made.
Take further notice that continued telephone calls after receipt of a request not to call may constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003. Continued phone calls to my mother may also constitute an offence under the Data Protection Act.
Communicate in writing and ONLY in writing. Your telephone calls will not be answered.
HOWEVER, CALLS WILL TRIGGER COMPLAINTS TO THE REGULATORY BODIES.
I trust I have made myself understood on this matter.
Yours,
Send this letter recorded delivery. If they persist, you should complain:

Worst Crudit threatened me with bankruptcy. I do own a house and have a bit of equity but I pointed out to them that if they made me br they would probably get less back than allowing me to pay the FULL amount in instalments, as I have other creditors and they would just have to go in line with my other creditors and not get preferential treatment. They've not followed through on their threat from 6 months ago.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Mortgage free since 2014
