icesave Londoners

Dear All, I would like to ask two questions:
1) I am one of those icesavers that panicked too late, I did a CHAPS on Monday 07 and to my surprise I got the worst of both worlds: I got charged 30£ for CHAPS, the 8,000£ of the CHAPS disappeared from my icesave account and never showed up in my UK account (CHAPS should be same day transfers). Is this money lost and how can I prove that never left Icesave and should be part of the claim?
2) I believe many icesavers live in London which is where an Iceland embassy is. IS there any manifestation programmed? If yes, please let me know I'm in.
Rgds,

Rgds,
If your CHAPS didn't go through then you will get a refund. CHAPS isn't instant transfer it's a same day service which is pushed through at the end of the day (5pm) although your request was received it wasn't processed (i.e the money wasn't sent).
You don't need to prove anything, it will all be in the banking system (may take a few days for it to work out but it will).
You will automatically be sent an application for from the FSCS if the bank goes into liquidation (this is what triggers the FSCS into action).0 -

Rgds,
Is anyone willing to stand outside the embassy and protest? I am.0 -
Sadabbott, I would think certainly at this stage, it would be premature to stand outside the embassy and protest. Whilst the loss of half our life savings may seem awful, we aren't panic buying food supplies becuase the entire nation's economy is spiralling out of control, with the third highest rate of inflation in the world. Think of the poor workers within the embassy - they have done nothing wrong, and will I suspect have families suffering back home. Far better to just sit it out until the end of the week and see what gets worked out.0

hi,
thanks for your replies.
Lucy, I have witnessed now various failures (both as a bloody city banker and as a battered saver); working in this field I can now feel when things do not smell right. I had money with B&B and still have with them. Take this as the most recent example, as it was being rescued I got emails showing the transition to Santander, there were plenty of press releases etc. The way Icelandic authorities and Landsbanki have dealt with the situation is the worst I have seen so far and it seems so made up to dogde foreign investors.
