Kaupthing - Action is Needed

The current situation people are facing with accessing their money within Kaupthing is disgusting. Some appear to be able to make a transaction, some don’t and some are not sure whether it has been successful because the balance is not showing correctly etc etc etc.

The whole financial industry is in turmoil and what do Kaupthing do; make things worse. It’s not us making things worse, it’s our money and I for one won’t be told where I must leave mine.

Does anybody know how we can bring pressure on this bank to act responsibly and put things right urgently.

Surely there must be a central body we can report this to who will force these idiots to act immediately.

Anyone know who & how?

Also, I suggest that anyone who manages to get any response from KE support should put any salient points regarding their website up on this thread to keep us all in the picture.

It's because there's thousands of people panicking at exactly the same time as you.

I dont think KE are really helping with this matter, they need to set up a team to help customer panic.

Customers seem to be panicking rather well on their own, am not sure they need a dedicated team to help them... :-) Sorry, couldn't resist...

As for the OP's comments - really this is just a question of a massive spike in customers accessing their accounts online or calling by phone... Kaupthing haven't really done anything wrong. On the contrary I've been impressed by the steady flow of clear information posted on their website.

I'm not a UK customer but a KE Isle of Man one, and all I can say is despite what must have been an incredibly busy day for them, the telephone support have been hugely helpful and efficient, and I still maintain I've had the best service from them of any bank I've been with.
  • Just tried to check my accounts with KE ( I have 2) I managed to access the details for no. 1 but when I tried to check no.2 I lost the page and could not log on again. Phoned customer services (got through straight away!) and was told that they were up dating the system and I should phone back after 5.30 am. Thats as far as I could get .

Kaupthing Edge is registered as a British bank. The FSA is responsible for British banks so complain to it.

All my accounts work just fine, but then I just did my daily transaction check, I didn't start making multiple transfers and bogging down the system with multiple dog license value transfers.

God you are pathetic. I bet you have a travel rug on the parcel shelf of your car and a tin of sweets in the glove compartment.
