Help washing machine leak

Hi All
Have just put a wash on in a front loading washing machine. To my despair the water is coming out the bottom front of the washing machine ...near the filter. Its not coming out of the filter though but about it. I examined the door seal - rubber thing and there is a hole in it.
I believe this is what the problem is. If i get a new seal tomorrow would i be able to fit it myself?
Im single and cant lift the washing machine out of the space it is in cause its too heavy - as i wanted to check the pipes at the back. But im nearly sure its the hole in the rubber that is causing the problems.
Can anyone give me advise.
Thanks

You've not mentioned the make/model of the machine, but I'm sure google would be your friend as to how to do this yourself. The other thing to consider, if you can afford it, is some form of appliance cover, like with British Gas or some other company, that way this would be covered. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0

as for lifting it, can you not ask a neighbour for some help in moving it?0

Easy to do having done a few in my time. There are two clamps to remove, the first is visible, a (white) nylon band all around the outside of the seal. Held buy a self locking clip, either at the top or bottom. Trick is releasing it and not breaking it, Interlocking teeth, will not pull part, but can be slid sideways to release refitting with pliers.
Once the front seal is released the internal clamp can be felt for, you wont see it. Short stubby screw driver or socket/driver will be useful, then reassemble. No lifting required, just steady work and time.0 -
Is your machine an indesit? the door seals on these are supposed to have a hole in them, so fitting a new seal may not solve the problem unless it definately seems damaged.0

I had a half inch tear in the seal of my washing maching. After researching on the internet, I brought some waterproof glue and repaired the tear.
Over 6 months later it still works.
It does depend where the tear is, my was near the front so I was able to put glue on the front and back to completely seal the tear.0
