How long till I receive money ?

Hi everyone and anyone,

I had the telephone interview yesterday for incapacity benefit due to a bad ankle injury which Im still waiting to get operated on.
The lady on the phone said she'll send the printout of the interview for me to check and send back with ID.
When am I likely to get money ? (it goes straight into my bank account).

Any help would be great !

IF you haven't been told you are definately going to get it, which you haven't mentioned if a decision has been made, you'll have to wait until they send the documents for you to check and sign, then wait for a decision (they might request you have a medical), if you are awarded then it's usually about a week after that. If you're entitled I'd hope you would receive an answer and payment within 6 weeks of interview.
One day I might be more organised...........

It will be up to a decsion maker to decide if you need to have a medical or not, alot of people do.
  • I think I read somewhere that most medicals were for people with mental difficulties more than physical.Dont know if thats true or not

Oh well I'll wait and see what they say..

    Thanks for all the replies.
